Carbonless Sequence Test Procedure

Q: How do you know which to order?
A: If all you need is two part, you can move the top sheet to the bottom of the stack is the sequence is not correct.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO CONTINUE WITH THE TEST! For 3 or more parts, the easiest way to determine what sequence you need is to follow the TEST PROCEDURE below. It is important that you setup the printer just as you will when you are printing your forms. Not all printers are the same. Changing printers, the tray or opening the bypass delivery can change the test results.

TEST PROCEDURE:

  1. Take three sheets of paper and print "1" on the first one, "2" on the second, and "3" on the third sheet which will simulate "White", "Canary" and "Pink" colored paper.

  2. Open any word processor program and type "TEST"

  3. Request 3 copies to be printed.

  4. The first part of the test is:
DID YOU PRINT THE WORD "TEST" ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE PAPER AS YOU HAND WROTE THE NUMBER 1, 2, AND 3?

  5. If the answer is NO, start again from step 1.

  6. If the answer is YES, pick up the 3 sheets as a set. If the numbering sequence is still 1, 2 and 3 you need STRAIGHT SEQUENCE. If not, you need REVERSE SEQUENCE.

  7. HERE IS THE ONE EXCEPTION:

    1. If you are going to print on both sides,

    2. And do not have a machine that prints both sides in one pass,

    3. And your answer to #6 above is REVERSE,

    4. YOU WILL NEED TO ORDER STRAIGHT SEQUENCE! WHY? First Pass -> Reverse to Straight. Second pass -> Back to reverse and the carbon action will not work.
